samsung i5700 with android 2.1 fix for cpu clock
After I updated my Samsung Spica i5700 to Android 2.1 I’ve noticed that when you turn the camera on, the CPU is set at 800MHz and it won’t slow down till the reboot, so I’ve made a simple app that will change a CPU governor from ‘performance’ back to ‘conservative’ mode after phone screen is locked. Additionally, you can use a widget that when clicked will change the CPU mode immediately.
You may download it from here: market://details?id=com.privateasteroid.coolspica

This app is for free so you should be able to download it all around the world, you don’t need a paid account, just setup a google account and you will be able to download it.

Thanks! This little app really works very well. I don’t understand how it is possible, but I now manage to get up to 74 hours of use out of a single charge on my Spica. Before, I would be lucky to make it to very much above 36 hours.
The first time I used CoolS, my spica litteraly slowed to a crawl. It would take 10 seconds to show the unlock slider after pressing the top right button. I rebooted once. After that, I was amazed to see 74 hours of normal use (ebook reading, some browsing, email and maybe 30 minutes of calls per day).
